Set against the backdrop of America’s busiest port, the Port of Los Angeles, and just 25 miles south of downtown Los Angeles, the LA Waterfront features expansive marinas and beaches, museums and historical landmarks, award-winning open spaces and a flourishing downtown art scene.

Princess Cruises ship underway


AT THE PORT OF LOS ANGELES, THE ADVENTURE STARTS BEFORE YOUR CRUISE DEPARTS

As the proud home port of Princess Cruises, Norwegian Cruise Lines and Royal Caribbean International, and with nine other cruise lines calling regularly, approximately 250 cruises are anticipated to depart from the Port of Los Angeles in 2025.

Since the inception of the LA Waterfront almost two decades ago, the Port of LA has successfully planned, invested and developed a significant number of waterfront properties and public open spaces.

LA Waterfront Fun Facts

Angels Gate Lighthouse

Welcoming vessels to the Port of Los Angeles since 1913, Angels Gate is the only lighthouse on the U.S. West Coast that shines an emerald-green beacon.

Events and Visitors

The LA Waterfront hosts over 100 events each year, including LA Fleet Week® over Memorial Day Weekend, attracting approximately 1.5 million visitors annually.

LA World Cruise Center

The Port of LA is home port to Princess Cruises, Norwegian Cruise Line and Royal Caribbean, with nine additional lines visiting regularly, totaling nearly 250 calls annually.

Port of LA Investments

The Port invested $600 million in the LA Waterfront from 2005 to 2015, and will invest another $400 million, the total investment will total $1 billion by 2025.

    The Port of Los Angeles’ award-winning Wilmington Waterfront Promenade project has received seven honors to date for its unique, sustainably designed architecture and construction! Working alongside the Port’s Engineering and Construction divisions, this nine-acre project was designed in partnership with sasaki and constructed by Sully Miller. The promenade officially opened in February 2024, offering our neighbors enhanced views of Los Angeles Harbor and a creative open space for public gatherings. Thank you to the American Society of Civil Engineers Metropolitan Los Angeles Branch, Construction Management Association of America (CMAA) Engineering News-Record, Los Angeles Business Council, Westside Urban Forum, and Wilmington Chamber of Commerce for recognizing this Wilmington community jewel!

    Royal Caribbean has announced the Voyager of the Seas is coming to the Port of Los Angeles in 2026. The 3,430-passenger ship will offer cruises to Ensenada, Mazatlán and Puerto Vallarta, plus visits to Catalina Island and overnight calls to Cabo San Lucas.
