The Port of Los Angeles’ award-winning Wilmington Waterfront Promenade project has received seven honors to date for its unique, sustainably designed architecture and construction! Working alongside the Port’s Engineering and Construction divisions, this nine-acre project was designed in partnership with sasaki and constructed by Sully Miller. The promenade officially opened in February 2024, offering our neighbors enhanced views of Los Angeles Harbor and a creative open space for public gatherings. Thank you to the American Society of Civil Engineers Metropolitan Los Angeles Branch, Construction Management Association of America (CMAA) Engineering News-Record, Los Angeles Business Council, Westside Urban Forum, and Wilmington Chamber of Commerce for recognizing this Wilmington community jewel!

Royal Caribbean has announced the Voyager of the Seas is coming to the Port of Los Angeles in 2026. The 3,430-passenger ship will offer cruises to Ensenada, Mazatlán and Puerto Vallarta, plus visits to Catalina Island and overnight calls to Cabo San Lucas. The Holidays are in full swing at the Port of Los Angeles, kicking off this past weekend with the 2024 Holidays by the Sea event and the 63rd annual LA Harbor Holiday Afloat parade.

The free annual event featured a tree lighting with Councilmember Tim McOsker alongside Los Angeles Harbor Commission Vice President John Pérez, Commissioner Lee Williams, Port of Los Angeles Executive Director Gene Seroka and Los Angeles Port Police Chief Tom Gazsi. Attendees enjoyed carol singers, snow sledding, art & crafts, Los Angeles Maritime Institute - LAMI tall ships, and even a holiday market at West Harbor Los Angeles before heading to the promenade railing to view the parade.

Thank you to all who participated in the festivities!

The Port of Los Angeles has released a Request For Interest (RFI) for the redevelopment or adaptive reuse of historic Municipal Warehouse No. 1. Built over a century ago as the Port’s first bonded warehouse, the six-story, nearly 500,000 sq. ft. building features unique architecture and endless use potential.

The Port will hold a site tour for interested parties on Thursday, Dec. 12. Reservations are required. RFI Respondents are requested to provide a general narrative description outlining a vision for overall best use of the site. Responses are due by March 10, 2025.
